Macedonian President and Commander in Chief of the armed forces Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova accompanied by Deputy Chief of General Staff Major General Azim Nuredin visited army members fighting the wildfires in Pepelishte near Negotino, her PR team said on Tuesday.
President Siljanovska-Davkova was informed about the activities undertaken by the Army in the assistance of all involved entities in extinguishing fires on the ground and from the air, as well as about the current situation on the ground.
During the tour of the burned places in the vicinity of Pepelishte and Krivolak, the president was informed about the engaged army capacities, the areas and the method of engagement, as well as about the coordination and obligations of the Army with other subjects in localizing the fires in this area.
At the same time, the head of state expressed her gratitude to all army members, who are professionally and dedicatedly engaged in the fight against wildfires.
