Leader of the Alliance for New Kosovo, former president of Kosovo and one of the richest Albanians in the world, Behgjet Pacolli, said in a Facebook post that the head of the Passenger Safety Department of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in Toronto, with whom he traveled to Italy, told him that “there is no type of immunity that can justify avoiding the screening of every passenger flying an airplane.”
His reaction comes after the incident with Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani at the Skopje airport.
“Today I had a short trip to Italy with the head of passenger safety at IATA in Toronto. We also talked about the incident in Skopje.
He confirmed to me (what I already knew) that there is no form of immunity by which any passenger flying on an airplane can avoid being searched, especially on a public airplane where the safety of other passengers is at stake and they are not security procedures taken.
In the event that a passenger refuses control by the security service, it, among other things, notifies the pilot of the corresponding aircraft and the pilot automatically decides to prevent the aircraft from taking off,” said Pacolli.
