It is not normal for there to be 40 new fires per day, I call for increased vigilance and responsibility, said the director of the Crisis Management Center (CMC) Stojanche Angelov on Wednesday evening.
In the statement to the media sent by the fire near Kozjak, Angelov said that the fire reached the weekend settlement and that tomorrow they will continue extinguishing it.
Speaking about the fire near the villages of Breznica and Tazhevo, Angelov said that it has been smoldering for 19 days and that today, despite all the efforts of the employees of the Jasen national park, it spread to the hunting ground.
The CMC director said that there are also fires in the region like Serbia and Greece and that Serbia is withdrawing their helicopter as of Friday.
