Makedonski Brod Police Department on Friday to the Kichevo PPO sent charges against a man from Prilep (57) suspected of arson, punishable according to the Criminal Code.
The accused on several occasions, on July 15, 2024, July 30, 2024, August 2, 2024, August 5, 2024 and on August 7, 2024 near the village of Slatina and the village of Greshnica, municipality of Makedonski Brod, caused a wildfire, which expanded and fires started on a larger area, where grass and low-stemmed plants were set on fire.
All fires were extinguished by teams of the Territorial Fire Fighting Unit Makedonski Brod and the Regional Forestry “Sandanski” – Makedonski Brod. While taking measures related to the fires, police officers from the Makedonski Brod PD found the suspect D.T. at the scene of the fire and during an examination, objects that could cause a fire were found with him. An official interview was conducted with the accused, during which he pleaded guilty.
