Kosovo’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the Council of the Basic Criminal Court in Skopje decided not to extradite the Kosovar nationalBlerimRamadani, who was arrested last month on the Kosovo-Macedonia border based on an Interpol warrant issued at the request of Serbia.

It is said in a statement that the former member of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), Ramadani will remain under house arrest in Skopje until the final verdict of the Supreme Court of Macedonia.

BlerimRamadani, based on an international warrant issued to Interpol by Serbia, was arrested in July at the Jajince border crossing. The content of the arrest warrant is based on Serbia’s suspicions that Ramadani, as a former KLA soldier, committed war crimes in the Nerodime region.

Prishtina-based media remind that Ramadani is the third citizen of Kosovo as a former KLA fighter, arrested in N. Macedonia on the basis of a Serbian warrant. GafurDugoli and TomorMorina were previously arrested, but they were released by a court decision.
