The Civil Aviation Agency (CAA) released the report on the August 1 incident at the Skopje airport. It states that the security services at the Skopje airport acted professionally and in accordance with international rules regarding the incident involvingKosovo President VjosaOsmani.
According to the Agency, the team of inspectors found no irregularities, and it is noted that this is not the first time that VjosaOsmani has refused security checks at the airport. The refusal to conduct standard security checks with the same passengers, according to the evidence, also occurred in 2022 and 2023, when security checks were accepted only after the captain of a Croatian airline flight refused to accept passengers without a security check.
The incident at the Skopje airport occurred on August 1 when Kosovo President VjosaOsmaniwas traveling to Ljubljana. Osmani asked for help from Macedonian Parliament Speaker AfrimGashi, who sent his bodyguards to solve the case.
A few days ago, the Ministry of Interior filedcriminal charges against Speaker Gashi’s head of security. He has been suspended from work and will be liable for breach of security. Disciplinary proceedings have also been initiated against two police officers.
