Macedonia should be proud of the quality of Macedonian rice, of the work of the farmers in the rice fields, and we should give them a beautiful future to the trouble and labor, said Macedonian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management CvetanTripunovkiat the beginning of the meeting with the rice buyers.
The minister informed that the quality, the production price and the future of the Macedonian variety of rice are being discussed, as well as that an agreement has been reached with which the purchase prices for large varieties of rice will amount to MKD 35 for a yield of 40 percent and for small varieties MKD 30 for a yield of 40 percent. With a note that these are prices at which as the yield increases, the price will also increase. Two thousand tons of rice should be bought in the next 30 days.
“A few months ago, on our own initiative, we managed to introduce rice as a strategic crop into the commodity reserves. Our goal is to emphasize the recognizable quality of rice, which is considered one of the highest quality in the region,” noted Minister Tripunovski.
