At an emergency session on Friday, the Judicial Council adopted a decision to establish a committee that will investigate the decisions made by the Basic Criminal Court in Skopje in relation to the case concerning Blerim Ramadani who escaped from house arrest in Skopje during an extradition procedure.
Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said that the question that should be seriously considered in this case is why it was decided that Ramadani should be under house arrest and that precisely because of such developments in the judiciary, trust in it is very low. The opposition SDSM, on the other hand, demands responsibility from the Ministry of Interior Panche Toshkovski, and believes that they “clumsily spin that the court is to blame”.
The head of the Judicial Council Vesna Dameva, at the beginning of Friday’s 495thsession, said she hasn’t received any formal reports over the cases, but the Judicial Council has an obligation to react.
