After it was put under control Saturday afternoon, the wildfire on Mount Stogovo, above the Debar village of Gari, has been completely contained, said commander of the Debar Territorial Fire Fighting Unit Jetan Miftaroski.

The fire above the Gari village, on Mount Stogovo, was put under control yesterday, and today it is completely contained. Since it is raining, there is no danger of it spreading again, Miftaroski said. According to the commander, an area of over 75 hectares of dry grass, small-stemmed, as well as tall-stemmed forest was burned.

CMC director Stojanche Angelov said Sunday that between August 1 and August 18, 660 wildfires were registered in Macedonia, of which 98 were forest fires and most of which turned into large fires that were difficult to extinguish. He announced that the fire in Galichica was extinguished Sunday with the help of the rainfall.
