State Roads public enterprise director Koce Trajanovski told journalists on Monday that he hopes Bechtel-Enka will be able to begin work on the ground on the Corridor VIII and X-d motorway sections before New Year’s, once the necessary expropriation and dislocation of electrical and telecommunication lines is completed.
As Trajanovski stated, intensive work is being done on expropriations for which the previous government gave deadlines to be completed last year, and the funds for that purpose are beyond the planned one billion and 300 million euros for the construction of highways.
“A contract was signed which is specific, which was made according to a special law and I think that, I will say again the previous government, they set deadlines for the expropriation and dislocation of electric lines and telecommunication lines which is the competence of the Republic of Macedonia and they do not belong to those billion and three hundred million , to be completed last year. We have been making intensive efforts for the last month and we are putting a lot of effort into expropriation. Until we resolve the expropriation, they cannot begin their work. They begin after the land has been cleared, which means it has been expropriated, cables have been dislocated, demining has taken place. I hope that before the New Year we will already bring them to the field,” said Trajanovski during his visit to Kavadarci.
