In addition to the situation in the Permanent Mission of the UN in New York, we have indications of financial abuses in at least two other diplomatic-consular representations of the country abroad, said Macedonian Minister of Foreign Affairs Timcho Mucunski, without specifying which embassies were in question.
“Unfortunately, I have identified several other cases of unprofessional work. I could not say here where, primarily out of respect for the countries where those individuals are accredited, but we also have other situations, like the one with the Permanent Mission in New York, of financial abuses by our ambassadors. We will establish higher performance standards for our ambassadors, thus protecting our assets and budget. I believe in procedures, we have clues and we will give them a chance to make their arguments and present their evidence. We have to implement an internal procedure and audit because we have to have the highest standards for our representatives outside the country,” Minister Mucunski pointed out.
