The City of Skopje cannot accomplish anything until 45 councilors stop blocking the programs they have been doing for years, and the Government needs to settle its debt of 8 million euros, says Skopje Mayor Danela Arsovska at a press conference on Tuesday.

She said it was not up to her “because all issues are related to the Council’s decision, and they cannot break the law”.

“Yesterday, although we presented a plan with specific measures for the situation, they did not accept it, they asked us for a new plan. The meeting lasted an hour, there was a detailed elaboration of all the issues, all the things that are blocked. As we presented things, they were rejected. We’ll see which try they like the plan. If someone wants to show himself as a leader, he should come up with his own plan,” said Arsovska, asked to comment on her meeting with Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski and Minister of Local Self-Government Zlatko Perinski on Monday.

However, the mayor says that she agrees with Minister Perinski that there was no communication between the City and the Government.
