SCPC launces investigation on newly appointed ARM Chief of the General Staff

The State Commission for the Prevention of Corruption (SCPC) has opened a case regarding the appointment of the new Chief of the General Staff of the Army, SashkoLafchiski, theCommission head TatjanaDimitrovskatold 360stepeni.mk news website.

“We have an open case and it has been assigned to a member. A complaint has been received and a procedure has been initiated to secure documents for verification of the allegations,” Dimitrovska told the website.

Just a few hours after SashkoLafchiski officially became the Chief of the General Staff of the Army of N. Macedonia, the Alliance for Albanians problematized his election saying that he unfairly and illegally took the post that belonged to an Albanian. According to AA deputy leader KrenarLloga, Lafchiski does not meet the necessary conditions for this position and was four levels below the standards required for the Chief of General Staff.
