As the Macedonian Ministry of Interior announced, late on Friday, police officers from the Tetovo Ministry of Interior and the Department for Special Police Operations, after previously receiving operational information that L.M. (41) from Gajre village near Tetovo, who is suspected of murder committed on July 5 2024, and was wanted for escaping from the Bardovci Psychiatric Hospital, is located in the village. Moreover, they took measures and activities to arrest the suspect.
After previously obtained search warrants in three houses in Gajre, when measures were taken to search a house owned by Z.M., L.M. was found, who was armed with an automatic rifle and resisted and did not follow the orders given by the police officers, but he pointed the automatic rifle at the police officers, after which the police officers fired their weapons. After L.M. was down, medical assistance was requested from the Emergency Medical Service, and the public prosecutor was also notified. At L.M. a pistol and frames for an automatic rifle and bullets were also found. Around 10.50 pm L.M. succumbed to the injuries and the death was confirmed by a doctor from the Emergency Medical Service, the Ministry of Interior said in a press release.
