International law professor Toni Deskoski assessed the behavior of the Minister of Education Vesna Janevskaas statesmanlike and responsible for using the adjective ‘North’ while referring to the country’s name.

“As a minister in the government, her duty is to respect the Constitution, and according to the Constitution, our country was renamed the Republic of North Macedonia. All of us who were against the name change are disgusted by the crime committed. History will judge those who did it. But the reality is that we have a new name and state officials are obliged to use it, says Professor Deskoski in a Facebook post. The state, and we as its citizens, have no benefit from the fact that state officials would defy the Constitution and the Western allies by violating the Prespa Agreement. On the contrary, they would suffer enormous damage from defiance,” noted the law professor.
