The Shanghai Ranking Consultancy organization published the academic ranking of world universities for 2024, known as the Shanghai List. Harvard was yet again ranked first on the list. Stanford University came in second, and third is the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
There is not a single Macedonian university on the Shanghai list yet again this year.
From the region, Belgrade University was ranked between 401-500, that is, it recorded a drop from last year when it was ranked between 301-400place. The University of Novi Sad maintained its position between 901 and 1,000place. At a position between 401-500 the University of Zagreb took place, and the University of Ljubljana ranked between 501-600.
Apart from Macedonian, there is not a single university from Bulgaria or Albania on the Shanghai list.
