On 28.08.2024 at 22:45 at the Bogorodica border crossing, on the way out of the country, police officers detained M.A. (38) from Bosnia and Herzegovina, who was driving a Mercedes truck with a semi-trailer with Bosnian national insignia.
He was detained because during an inspection, 15 migrants from China were found in the semi-trailer, one of whom is a minor.
The public prosecutor from the Public Prosecutor’s Office has been informed, and due to grounds for suspicion that he committed the crime of ‘migrant smuggling’ under Art. 418-b paragraph 4, and in connection with paragraph 2 of the CC, against M.A. an appropriate report will be submitted, the migrants were transferred to the Gevgelija Reception and Transit Center.
