The police are strongly committed to dealing with the crime of illegal carrying of weapons, Interior Minister PancheToshkovski told the national broadcaster MRT in response to a question about the presence of firearms on the streets.
“In 2024 alone, 104 firearms were seized by the Ministry of Interior, of which 9 automatic rifles, 39 pistols, 35 hunting rifles, etc. There will always be crime. The question is how the security services, how the Ministry of Interior will respond to that crime. Will he be an accomplice as before many times or will he respond appropriately and give his best and in two hours he will arrest the perpetrators who committed the murder like the example at the Mavrovka shopping center”, said Minister Toshkovskiand pointed out that in the future a clear and a precise procedure for issuing firearms licenses only to legally eligible people.
