Marking 100 years since Todor Aleksandrov’s death, a memorial service was held on Saturday in the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and a monument was unveiled in the park opposite the VMRO Museum in the old Shtip settlement of Novo Selo, where he was born. The mayor of the Shtip Municipality, Ivan Jordanov, said that on the hundredth anniversary of Aleksandrov’s death, on the initiative of the patriotic association “Mishe Razvigor” and with the decision of the Shtip Municipality Council, a monument was unveiled in Shtip’s Novo Selo.
“I am sure that the purpose of the murder 100 years ago was to extinguish the idea of an independent sovereign Macedonia, after 100 years we continue the work of Todor Aleksandrov by unveiling this monument, but also the idea of Macedonia. May his glory be eternal and may the fight for Macedonia continue,” said Mayor Jordanov.
