Macedonian Minister of Education and Science Vesna Janevska said that the teachers’ protest is organized by the opposition party SDSM, which didn’t provide money not only for their wages, but also for any raise when it was in power.
“The protests are organized by SDSM, the party that was in power until recently and had ministers, deputy ministers and secretaries of state that left the country in disintegration, left the Ministry of Education with a budget hole of 5 billion and which had the opportunity to correct the teachers’ status, but decided not to do it,” said Education Minister Janevska.
The minister points out that as a minister, she remains of the position that she will fight to improve the status of teachers and that it will be done the first moment when there is an opportunity to increase wages, after the state budget is stabilized.
