The opposition SDSM, which led the country until recently, is organizing a teachers’ protest in front of the Ministry of Education and Science (MES), for “higher wages”. This paradoxical political manipulation is more than transparent, because it was the previous government that had the opportunity to contribute to better wages for teachers, in fact, did not provide any funds for it in the 2024 Budget.
The protest, which started at 11:30 a.m., can be called a fiasco, because despite the party’s call, very few protesters can be seen in front of the MES.
The Independent Trade Union for Education and Science dissociated itself from the protest yesterday on the grounds that their members will not participate in political protests. The Minister of Education and Science Vesna Janevska also expressed her opinion, according to which the party organizing the protest had the opportunity to improve the teachers’ status in the past period.
