Macedonian Prime Minister HristijanMickoski believes that the problem that the people of Skopje have with public city transport will not be solved if the procedure for the purchase of 250 new buses is started right now, as requested by Skopje Mayor DanelaArsovska.

“Let’s support a decision today or start a process for the procurement of buses only for Skopje, they will be delivered next year. If the plan is ‘vote to take a loan to buy buses that will arrive next year’, that will not solve the problem of the people of Skopje,” Mickoski said at a press conference in the Government, where the project for 250 million euros for infrastructure projects for the municipalities was presented.

The PM added that the problem is solved by mobilization in the JSP with real and purposeful spending of funds collected through the city treasury and given to the JSP as a subsidy. But the Government cannot do that, but the City of Skopje, that is, the JSP anagement.  He emphasized the need for buses for other cities as well, such as Tetovo, Bitola, Prilep, Shtip, Kavadarci, Ohrid.

“If Skopje needs 250 buses, other cities certainly need even more,” said PM Mickoski.
