The field around the area of the Kochani village Mojanci near the waste treatment plant was on fire for four hours, and the fire brigade managed to localize the flames, MIA reports. With the help of the citizens, but also the volunteers from the Voluntary Fire Brigade from Kochani, a great catastrophe was prevented.
“We received a report of the fire around noon and then after 4 pm, with superhuman efforts, we managed to prevent the spread of the fire from the rice fields to the treatment plant. At one point, the flames were practically in the vicinity of the station, and a great danger was that there was a tank of methane, which could cause catastrophic consequences. In some places the fire is still burning, and the rain that started falling late this afternoon helped to extinguish it,” said Vlado Jeftimov, commander of the unit in TPPE – Kochani.
