The Macedonian State Energy Company AD ESM and the Kosovo State Energy Company (KEK-) have begun enhanced cooperation in order to more easily overcome the energy crisis and the situation with the upcoming heating season, ESM informed on Saturday.
At the meeting between the managements of the two companies held in Skopje, the possibilities of using the coal from Kosovo in the power plants in N. Macedonia were considered, as well as the possibility of mutual support between the two systems.
It was concluded that working groups from the two state companies will agree on the procedures for effecting the agreed cooperation as soon as possible, as well as that the governments of the two countries, i.e. the ministers of economy, will be informed about the upcoming steps, which are within the framework of the agreed interstate cooperation in the field of energy by ministers Kreshnik Bekteshi and Artane Rizvanolli in December 2021.
