Kamelija Nedev wins the silver medal in Cadet Kata at World Traditional Karate Championship

Macedonian karate athlete Kamelija Nedev won the silver medal, becoming the world vice-champion in the individual kata discipline (cadet category) at the World Traditional Karate Championship currently taking place in Koper, Slovenia.

Facing exceptionally strong international competition, Kamelija delivered an excellent performance to reach the final, where she competed against an athlete from Romania. Both finalists received the same total score; however, due to a higher individual mark awarded to the Romanian competitor, Kamelija secured second place and the silver medal.

“Although she fell just one step short of the world title, Kamelija demonstrated a high level of technical skill, dedication, and fighting spirit, representing Macedonia with dignity on the global karate stage. This result marks a significant achievement for Macedonian traditional karate and serves as further proof of the quality of our young athletes,” said the MTKF (Macedonian Traditional Karate Federation).

Representatives from 58 countries, involving approximately 1,200 competitors, are participating in the championship.
