VMRO-DPMNE MP Antonijo Miloshoski told a press conference on Wednesday that the party has proposed setting up a special state commission in the fight against the pandemic. According to Miloshoski, VMRO-DPMNE’s idea was proposed at a meeting between the Health Minister and professor Velo Markovski on Tuesday, but was dismissed.

“Regarding a commission for dealing with pandemics and epidemics, we proposed that it consists of 11 members. It would include the Minister of Health and the Crisis Management Center head, as well as 3 infectious disease specialists, 2 epidemiologists, 2 microbiologists, an immunologist and an internist. To our disappointment, this idea and proposal was dismissed by the Minister of Health,” Miloshoski said.

VMRO-DPMNE, he added, believes that the Commission for Infectious Diseases is partly responsible for the very untimely or the very inappropriately taken measures in the past five months.

As regards the draft law on the protection of the population against communicable diseases, Miloshoski pointed out that the MPs had received it for the first time yesterday, adding that it takes at least a day to review it.
