Deputy PM Nikoloski: Macedonia will also get a connection to the Port of Bar with the Skopje-Blace motorway

Improving infrastructure connectivity between Macedonia and the region is a top priority for the Government. As a landlocked country, we are building infrastructure that will directly connect us to three ports, Macedonian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Nikoloski said during a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro Filip Ivanović.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Nikoloski, this presents a new opportunity for the development of the domestic economy and trade cooperation with other countries, while also opening up new markets for companies.

“At the end of August, Macedonia began construction on the Skopje-Blace motorway. This establishes a direct motorway link with Montenegro and opens up access to a third port, the Port of Bar. Given that we already have good connectivity with the Port of Thessaloniki, and are currently developing a connection to the Port of Durrës, the construction of this motorway will provide an excellent link to the Port of Bar as well. In doing so, we are acting in the best interest of the nation: ensuring that, despite being landlocked, we have access to at least three ports,” Nikoloski noted.
