Filipche is in a peculiar psychological state, a man who is being blackmailed and is afraid; he owes a debt to both Zaev and Rumen Radev, says ruling party

Venko Filipche is in a peculiar psychological state that he cannot control and for which he likely needs professional help. He is a man under blackmail and in fear, owing a debt to Zoran Zaev, who appointed him and keeps him in the SDS leader’s seat, and to Rumen Radev, to whom he has evidently made commitments implying a fresh betrayal of Macedonian national interests, VMRO-DPMNE said in a press release Friday.

“On one hand, due to his sycophancy toward Zoran Zaev, he has transformed the SDS into a marginal party plagued by numerous problems, including infighting among members, mutual accusations of serious crimes, insults, and public confrontations. On the other hand, he has clearly assumed obligations toward Rumen Radev, given that his stance, ‘Bulgarians in the Constitution first, then everything else’, mirrors Bulgaria’s policy regarding Macedonia. These positions held by Filipche, aligning with those of Bulgaria and Radev, are not the first of their kind we have heard; they also include the view, shared by the Bulgarian side, that regarding bilateral issues and the dispute with Bulgaria, negotiations should be held with the European Union rather than with Bulgaria itself. Moreover, his recent public appearances only confirm his psychological state—caught between sycophancy toward Zaev and subservience to Radev regarding some new act of betrayal serving Bulgarian interests.

For only a person who is being blackmailed and is afraid would publicly hurl insults and behave in the uncontrolled, erratic manner of Venko Filipche, flinging around epithets like “idiot’ and ‘semi-truck frog’ all in a single day.

We view Venko Filipche’s behavior with regret and sympathy, and we urge him to seek professional medical help as soon as possible, before it is too late,” the ruling VMRO-DPMNE party adds in its press release.
