Deepening economic cooperation, attracting new investments, and promoting the partnership between Macedonia and the German federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia were in the focus of a working meeting on Tuesday between Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski and the Prime Minister of North Rhine-Westphalia, Hendrik Wüst.
As Mickoski said in a social media post, the meeting held during his visit to Germany involved his government team, including Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski, and Minister of Energy, Mining, and Mineral Resources Sanja Bozhinovska. They discussed existing cooperation and support, as well as opportunities to further deepen these ties, particularly in the areas of the economy and investments.
PM Mickoski noted that German companies such as Kostal, Kromberg & Schubert, WIK, Gerresheimer, and other prominent investors already operating in the country serve as an example of the potential for attracting new investments from North Rhine-Westphalia. At the meeting, satisfaction was also expressed regarding the implementation of the joint Declaration of Intent for Cooperation, which covers several areas, including the economy, investments, education, culture, and healthcare, as well as support for Macedonia’s European integration.
