Macedonian Orthodox believers in Salzburg have a new church community, following the blessing given by Metropolitan Pimen of Europe for its establishment within the European Diocese of the Macedonian Orthodox Church – Ohrid Archbishopric (MOC-OA), Religija.mk reported on Sunday.
The beginning of the church life for Macedonian Orthodox believers in Salzburg and the surrounding area was marked on September 19 with the first Holy Hierarchical Liturgy, celebrated on the occasion of the Feast of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos.
The Liturgy was officiated by Metropolitan Pimen of Europe, concelebrated by Father Jovan, and was attended by Macedonian Orthodox believers from Salzburg and the surrounding localities.
The newly steablished church community will carry the name “St. Archangel Michael”.
The European Diocese notes that its establishment marks a new chapter in the church life of Macedonian Orthodox believers in Salzburg, where the liturgical and church life of the Macedonian Orthodox community will be organized. The community will operate within the European Diocese of the Macedonian Orthodox Church – Ohrid Archbishopric (MOC-OA).
