The ruling VMRO-DPMNE alleged in a press release Wednesday that Venko Filipche’s statement “Bulgarians in the Constitution first, then the rest” is proof that Filipche is colluding in a new act of betrayal.
“Venko Filipche champions Bulgarian positions rather than Macedonian interests. Therefore, it is entirely legitimate to ask: Is there secret diplomacy between old cronies Zoran Zaev and Rumen Radev? Is there communication and are there meetings taking place between them?
Why else would Venko Filipche hand gifts to Radev and Bulgarian policy on a silver platter, without protecting the Macedonian national identity? Is a new business deal behind the undermining of these positions?
These are legitimate questions that Venko Filipche must answer,” said the ruling VMRO-DPMNE in its press release.
