VMRO-DPMNE MP Brane Petrushevski responded to criticisms from the opposition and SDSM leader Venko Filipche regarding the Government’s economic policies, stating that the opposition should focus on its own internal affairs.
Petrushevski notes that SDSM frequently sends public messages opposing various government policies, citing examples such as investments in industry and data centers, mining projects, and new borrowing.
Regarding economic indicators, he cited GDP growth data, comparing the periods of SDSM and DUI rule with the current government led by VMRO-DPMNE.
“In the first eight quarters following the arrival of SDS and DUI to power, average real GDP growth stood at approximately 2.6 percent. During the first eight quarters of the current government led by VMRO-DPMNE, average growth has been around 3.55 percent. The latest official data further confirms this positive economic momentum; specifically, real GDP growth reached 4.3 percent in the second quarter of 2026,” said Petrushevski.
The ruling party representative noted that, in his view, economic indicators show a positive trend and that the opposition has no cause for concern regarding economic development.
