Macedonian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Cvetan Tripunovski will hold a working meeting in Prilep with the Sheep Breeders’ Association and representatives of the associations, at which they will discuss the current situation in the sheep breeding sector and the purchase of lambs.

“So far, around 100,000 lambs have been purchased and slaughtered. The price at which lambs are currently purchased is around MKD 280, which is much higher than last year. The purchase of lambs will continue in the coming period,” said the minister.

Minister Tripunovski indicated that he plans to discuss with the associations the future activities of this livestock sector.

“In line with the promises made to sheep breeders, we have paid the subsidies for sheep, which are for 2025, almost over MKD 1 billion. With this, we practically close the payment to this livestock branch,” Tripunovski pointed out.
