The Macedonian Ministry of Health informs that, as of July 30, 2026, a total of 13 cases of West Nile fever have been confirmed in the country.
“Ten patients with confirmed infection have been hospitalized at the University Clinic for Infectious Diseases and Febrile Conditions, three of whom are in critical condition.
Due to the current epidemiological situation and based on the expert risk assessment, the Ministry of Health has instructed the Center for Public Health-Skopje to conduct additional terrestrial, i.e. ground adulticidal disinsection against mosquitoes. The emergency treatment was carried out during the night as an additional preventive measure to reduce the risk of spreading the infection,” reads the ministry’s press release on Friday.
