The number of live births in the third quarter this year amounted to 5,374 and compared to the same period last year, it decreased by 7.4 percent. In the third quarter this year there were 4 701 deaths, up 2.2 percent compared to the third quarter last year. Of the total deaths, 14 are infants, the State Statistical Office said today.
The natural growth rate is 673, meaning that the number of live births is higher than the number of deaths.
In the third quarter, 4 302 marriages were signed, down 0.2 percent compared to the same period last year, but 355 divorces were recorded, or 12.2 percent more than July, August and September of last year.
