The Association of Chambers of Commerce of Macedonia opposes the proposal to increase the excise tax on fuels.

– This request for increase, which was proposed to the Government by the Chamber of Commerce, will cause additional burden on households, farmers, will increase the prices of transport, as well as the price of many products and services. A measure that benefits two or three companies, at the expense of entrepreneurs and citizens, in times of crisis, is not welcome. The move could hurt small and medium-sized companies in all sectors, as well as more than 99 percent of registered private sector entities and citizens who expect measures to help rather than raise costs, the Association of Chambers of Commerce said today.
