Macedonian language in Bulgaria is spoken by 188,000 people, according to the Campaign for Linguistic Diversity, a project funded by the European Commission (2012-2013).

On the map illustrating the spread of languages, the Macedonian state is named as the Republic of Macedonia, and the representation of the Macedonian language in Bulgaria is located in the Pirin part.

According to the Campaign, in Macedonia, where Macedonian is the official language, Macedonian has 1,288,000 speakers, and as a minority language, in addition to Bulgaria, the European continent is spoken by 47,000 people in Serbia, 40,000 in Greece, 5,000 in Albania, 4,400 in Slovenia, 4,300 in Croatia and 700 in Romania.
