After the leaders’ meeting with President Stevo Pendarovski, at which there was an unsuccessful attempt to agree on details of how the election process will proceed after the state of emergency and the coronavirus epidemic in Macedonia, VMRO-DPMNE said that it was clear that Zoran Zaev was the only one in favor of snap elections at the expense of the citizens’ health.

His positions and auction of dates were not accepted by any of the participants in the leadership meeting.

VMRO-DPMNE briefs that Zaev came exclusively ready to discuss only the dates of the elections, and not to protect the health of citizens.

Opposition leader Hristijan Mickoski proposed a concrete plan in four steps that will protect the health of citizens and elections will be held. The health commission should first assess the situation regarding the health situation and the possibility of holding elections. Then to provide observers, and then to say to the SEC whether there are conditions for elections, to finally provide and set a possible date.
