In order not to increase the price of electricity, it is only necessary to reduce the margin of the universal supplier, which is 11.5 percent, said VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski.

He reminded that he had pointed out to the Government on several occasions that the price of electricity with the liberalization of the market would increase and clarified the procedure for forming the price of electricity.

“The price of electricity is formed in a way that energy companies charge for their service. The margin charged by the universal supplier – imagine beating the then state-owned ELEM with a lower margin and it is 11.5 percent. So, the total amount of money that citizens pay for the tariffs of the state companies increases by as much as 11.5 percent and that at the end of the year in 2019 caused EVN Macedonia to have a profit of more than two billion denars or about 35 million euros,” said Mickoski.
