The decision to fully cover the illness of those suffering from COVID-19 applies to both the public administration and the private sector, said Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Fatmir Bytyqi, explaining the government’s decision.

When we say that they will use sick leave and that it will be 100 percent covered, it means that the Fund is taking over the burden. So, the legal provisions remain – 15 days the employer, after that, the legal obligation is assumed by the Fund, explained Bytyqi.

Asked if there will be a reduction in the salaries of public administration employees because it works online, Deputy Prime Minister Bytyqi said that there are rotations in the work of the administration, but that this does not mean that those employees are not at work, but that they work online from home.
