Leader of the largest opposition party VMRO-DPMNE Hristijan Mickoski assessed on Saturday that there is a “good basis” for a future coalition with Albanian opposition parties in Macedonia, given that they also come from the conservative spectrum and the center of the political scene.
Mickoski’s statement comes a day after a panel discussion organized by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation close to the German Christian Democrats, which was attended by representatives of the main opposition parties in Albania and Kosovo, and was welcomed by a senior representative of the European People’s Party (EPP).
“Both yesterday and during the event I mentioned that the nature of things connects political parties, it becomes the center of right and conservative political parties, it is logical that both ideologically and at the level of political program there is serious room for cooperation between VMRO-DPMNE and the Coalition Alliance for Albanians and Alternativa. Yesterday we had a really wonderful panel, and other such events will be organized in the future,” said Mickoski.
