President Stevo Pendarovski on Tuesday sent a greeting to Archbishop Stefan, Head of the Macedonian Orthodox Church – Ohrid Archbishopric, on St. Clement of Ohrid Day.
“St. Clement of Ohrid faithfully continued the work of his teachers, Saints Cyril and Methodius, and laid the foundations of spirituality and enlightenment in our region. Even after 11 centuries of his death, his work has not ceased to be an inspiration and motivation not only for Macedonian citizens, but beyond the Balkans and Europe,” Pendarovski said in the note.
“St Clement of Ohrid not only left a great spiritual and enlightening heritage, but also with a personal example showed in action what mercy, diligence, patience, solidarity mean. Unfortunately, now, as a nation and a state, we are facing additional difficulties and challenges, I wish the deeds and wisdom of St. Clement to be our guide to overcome difficulties united,” added Pendarovski.
