Macedonian Association “Ilinden” – Tirana expresses dissatisfaction with the decision of the Ministry of Culture of Albania not to financially support the holding of the “Folklore Festival of the Macedonian minority in Albania”.

“We are deeply disappointed and revolted that the Ministry of Culture of Albania did not accept the project “Folklore Festival of the Macedonian Minority in Albania” proposed by us. “On behalf of the Macedonians, we react strongly to the reckless and extremely discriminatory attitude of the Ministry of Culture because we believe that we should receive financial support from the state for the implementation of projects,” reads the reaction of the company.

It is noted that Macedonians are loyal citizens and pay all taxes to the state, but, as they say, “there is no money for cultural activities of loyal citizens of Macedonian ethnic origin.”

It is especially pointed out that the Company duly applied for the competition with the mentioned project, which is extremely important for the Macedonian community in Albania, but, as it is stated, “unfortunately there is no money for it”.
