Deputy Minister Hasani and former Health Minister Taravari clashed over the number of vaccines on TV Alsat’s “Patot kon…” show. Taravari accused that Macedonia did not order 800 thousand vaccines through the COVAX system, but about 103,200. Hasani responded by saying:

“According to real information, about 800 thousand vaccines have really been ordered, I can confirm this, through the information we have. There can be no manipulation and speculation here. But 20 percent arrive in the first quarter… Let me explain that 800 thousand vaccines have been ordered, but 800 thousand vaccines could never arrive at once, because there is a dynamic of distribution. There are about 20,000 to 40,000 to reach the first quarter, which will be sometime in March,” Hasani said.

Former Health Minister Taravari responded with an argument that the dynamics provided through the COVAX system means that Macedonia will complete the vaccination process by the end of 2022.

“It is very simple, just open the COVAX system on the Internet and you will see how many vaccines are reserved for Macedonia in 2021, 103,300 vaccines are reserved,” he said.
