The nationwide 10 pm – 5 am curfew imposed in Macedonia is set to remain in force. Over the course of the week authorities will discuss the epidemiological situation to determine whether there’s need to introduce additional restrictions, the Ministry of Health told MIA on Sunday.

The government’s decision to enforce a 10 pm – 5 am curfew was implemented on March 10, due to the new COVID-19 wave and expires Monday (March 22).

The curfew was enforced to limit the movement and communication between young people, who were gathering in parks, public spaces and homes, because they are the main culprits for the transmission of the virus.

Health Minister Filipche expects the curfew, introduced 11 days ago, to produce results by the beginning of the week.
