Marijuana smuggling prevented from Albania to Macedonia across Lake Ohrid

Police in the Albanian town of Pogradec prevented the smuggling of marijuana from Albania into northern Macedonia across Lake Ohrid.

Two persons were arrested for whom there were grounds for suspicion that they had performed this “activity” several times.

Narcotics were seized in small quantities, Adrian Papajani (35) from the village of Hudenish was arrested, and his brother Fatjon Papajani (29) is wanted.

“The investigative actions showed that the two brothers, in cooperation, were carrying out an illegal activity of drug trafficking from Albania, to Northern Macedonia, through the waters of Lake Ohrid. Thanks to the well-organized action, smuggling of a small amount of marijuana is prevented. As material evidence were seized a boat, two Yamaha engines, two electronic scales,” police said.
