The issuing of travel documents with the new constitutional name will start on July 1 this year, confirmed the Ministry of Interior for Fokus.mk.
“As for the issue of the validity period of personal documents (ID cards, passports and driver’s licenses) with the old name, they will be valid in accordance with the legislation and passports and driver’s licenses will have to be replaced no later than February 12, 2024, while you will be informed about the importance of ID cards later because the Law on ID card is still in parliamentary procedure,” says the Ministry of Interior.
According to unofficial information, the upgrade of the personal document system, which was done a few weeks ago, was precisely due to the implementation of the new name.
