Over 453 thousand citizens receive one dose of vaccine, over 272 thousand fully vaccinated

A total of 453,773 people across Macedonia have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 272,129 have been fully immunized, the Ministry of Health said on Saturday.

“On Friday, 10,817 citizens were vaccinated against COVID-19 nationwide. Of them, 6,076 received their first vaccine dose. A total of 725,902 vaccines doses have been administered in North Macedonia so far. Field vaccination is also taking place in North Macedonia, with medial teams administering jabs to people living in villages and rural areas.,” the press release reads.

In addition to the country’s largest mass vaccination site at the Skopje Boris Trajkovski Sports Arena, vaccination sites are open in Kavadarci, Kumanovo, Tetovo, Shtip, Bitola, Strumica, Ohrid, Veles, and Prilep.

Latest data show that 58% of people over 70 have received at least one COVID-19 shot, as well as 55% of those over 65, 51% of those over 60 and 41% of people over 50.

The Ministry of Health urges citizens to get vaccinated against COVID-19 as mass inoculation is the only way to defeat the virus.
