VMRO-DPMNE welcomes the adoption of the Resolution in the Macedonian Parliament, which clearly outlines national and state positions regarding the Macedonian language, history and identity. We express satisfaction that the Parliament retained the content of the Resolution, it remained in the content as submitted by our parliamentary group. Let me remind you that the text of the Resolution is based on scientific foundations and arguments, says VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski at Thursday’s press briefing.
According to the opposition leader, VMRO-DPMNE has shown and proved that it has a sound political concept that enables simultaneous building of strong positions for Macedonian national and state interests by consensus, confirmation of Macedonia’s European integration processes, but also the capacity to unite all stakeholders on key issues.
“We are also grateful to the political entities that sincerely, but also to those who less sincerely supported the Resolution. We are rational and we know that the word of the government does not last even five minutes, but we believe that such a Resolution as an act of the highest democratic legislative house cannot and must not be violated and will be a binding act for this and every future Government, President and each institution regarding the identity topics and issues,” said Mickoski.
He added that this process and this Resolution, in normal conditions, should be led by the government in Macedonia, and not by the opposition, because that would be an expression of political responsibility and that the most responsible in a country are most aware of the need to build unity in Macedonia regarding these issues.
