The Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) at the party’s central presidency, which will be held on September 4 in Gostivar, will announce the candidates for mayors in 18 municipalities where the party will have its own candidates for the local elections.
Deputy Prime Minister and senior party official Artan Grubi said he was convinced of an absolute victory in 16 of the municipalities, and expected a second-round victory in municipalities such as Brvenica, Studenicani and eventually Chaska.
“We do not need a coalition as the opposition needs from the first round, to make a connection, to the impossible, between VMRO-DPMNE, Allianca and Alternative. But, I think that is also good for them, we welcome it, we encourage them to cooperate as much as possible, because only that way, they will succeed, and somehow get closer to DUI, but they will not succeed in winning the elections in all those municipalities,” said Grubi.
